International business is not unfamiliar to us. As an additional service, we can assist you in exporting your vehicle.

Stienen Trading BV is an officially RDW-approved company. We can register your vehicle (motorcycle, passenger car, commercial vehicle) for export, you no longer need to go to the RDW for this. After registration, you will receive an export declaration from us. This export declaration is proof that your car has been officially registered for export in the Dutch vehicle registration system. From that moment on, you are no longer liable for vehicle-related obligations, such as motor vehicle tax.

After receiving your export declaration, you have 14 days to transport your vehicle to the country of destination (EU). During these 14 days, your vehicle must actually be exported. Use this period, because if you drive around in the Netherlands for more than 14 days with an export registration number, you can expect a hefty fine.

You are obliged to insure your vehicle during the export period. There are special insurances for this. You can take out this insurance at Stienen Trading BV. This is a third-party insurance. When registering for export, the Dutch license plates are destroyed.

We can provide you with the necessary special export license plates. The export license plate consists of a white license plate with black numbers and letters. This license plate number is the same as the Dutch license plate.

PLEASE NOTE: your vehicle must have a valid MOT If the expiry date of the MOT expires earlier, you have permission to drive on the road until this expiry date.

Austrian license plate

You have bought or sold a vehicle with a European license plate. You want to drive the vehicle yourself on the road to the desired destination in Europe. You are at your wits' end because the car has already been deregistered abroad and is not allowed on the road. In this case, Austrian transit plates offer the solution.

After receiving your Austrian license plates, you can drive your vehicle independently to your final destination. Austrian license plates are temporarily valid transit license plates that are used for bridging journeys from A to B. They are intended for use on passenger cars, trucks, trailers, campers and motorcycles.

How do you apply for Austrian transit plates?

Applying for temporary Austrian license plates is becoming more difficult by the day. This is due to the constant changes in the conditions under which these plates are issued by the Austrian traffic authority.

• Copy of sales invoice
• Copy of inspection report (e.g. MOT) (when the vehicle is older than 3 years)
• 1 power of attorney fully completed (see below)

Regulations and use

• This temporary Austrian license plate is not registered in the European license plate registration system (EUCARIS).
• Stienen Trading BV does not provide legal support in disputes with government agencies in any country due to the incorrect use of this license plate.

Product information for Dutch drivers

Please note that as a Dutch resident it is not automatically permitted to drive a vehicle with a foreign license plate on Dutch territory. We therefore advise you to apply for an "Exemption from bpm and mrb for short-term use" from the Tax Authorities. You can find the form here . It remains the case that the Austrian license plate is not registered in the European license plate registration system (EUCARIS), as it is a temporary insurance license plate. This may be a reason for the traffic police to confiscate the license plate in the case of a Dutch driver. We can only inform you of this in advance and unfortunately cannot provide legal support afterwards.
